There was a huge exhibit of quilts on Saturday & Sunday, March 22 – 23, 2014, at the spectacular Craneway Pavilion on San Francisco Bay in Richmond. It included more than 250 quilts by the members of the East Bay Heritage Quilters, the quilt guild that Barbara belongs to. In addition to members’ quilts, there was wearable art, a Marketplace of Fine Fiber Art, quilts from the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, free quilting demonstrations, activities for children, and an exhibit of quilts made by kids.
Barbara’s entry was a queen-size bed quilt made for Renee Dreyfus, curator for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. The amazing light at the Craneway really played up the sumptuous silk fabrics and Japanese cottons in this quilt.
